CroisiEurope had already been a leader in River and Small Ship Cruising for over 40 years when in 2018 they launched the African Dream – a 16 passenger luxury yacht to cruise on Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe. Featuring history, culture and wildlife, your cruise on the African Dream will be the highlight of a 9-day land and water safari: Journey to the Ends of the Earth.

After meeting in Johannesburg, guests travel to Namibia and check into CroisiEurope’s Cascades Lodge. Located on the banks of the Zambezi and Chobe rivers, on Namibia’s Impalila Island, the lodge is a private hideaway. During your 3-night stay at the lodge, you’ll set out on daily water safaris, fishing trips, and sunset cruises. From the lodge, you’ll have an unforgettable full day tour of Botswana’s Chobe National Park, home to the largest elephant population in Africa. Spend the morning in small jeeps, tracking animals through the park. After a memorable stay at the lodge, the group will continue to Zimbabwe to begin the next leg of the trip.

Cruising on Lake Kariba is the perfect way to come face to face with Zimbabwe’s wildlife. The African Dream was built with comfort in mind – but also with consideration to the locale. Holding only 16 guests at a maximum, it’s the perfect size for a private safari cruise. The lake itself is full of animals – guests have seen hippos, elephants, monkeys and crocodiles at the shorelines. It is also a birder’s paradise – over 300 species call this lake home. By day, the group will visit the Matusadona Park by jeep, and inlets and rivers entering the lake by motor boat. Lake Kariba is known for its sunsets that never disappoint.
