CCRA returned to the Orlando area on Tuesday, December 18th with a half-day event held at the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort welcoming over 100 travel agents and 23 suppliers for learning, networking, and relationship-building.
Our last, signature event of the year started off earlier than usual to allow more time for agents to get educated and meet with suppliers in preparation for the new year.
Travel agents then got the chance to hear from Chef Dennis Littley, Food & Travel Blogger, Private Chef, Content Creator and Digital Strategist. He presented Follow Me! How I Accidentally Became a Travel Influencer. He shared with agents how he has amassed an impressive combined following of more than 1.8+ million on his social channels and became one of the most well-known personalities in the travel & food blogging world.
After a short coffee and refreshment break, travel agents got to take a closer look at CCRA's new booking engine, TripSet. CCRA's Holly Carrig-Matthews shared everything agents needed to know to bank those commissions! She briefly shared how to navigate the new site and showed everyone exactly how easy it is to get in there and start booking hotels, cars, and more for their clients!
Always a fan favorite session, Tammy Levent's PowerStrategies: The Power of Partnerships taught agents about business models, commission negotiation tactics, sales and marketing tips, and so much more. Tammy, as so many people know, took her agency from minus to millions leveraging her success with the right partnerships and she always loves teaching travel agents how to do the same.
Following Tammy's newest strategies for growing their businesses through partnerships, travel agents went to Round Table Sessions with Posadas, Desire/Temptation, Cancun, Visit St. Petersburg Clearwater, Carey International, Inc., Israel Ministry of Tourism, Marriott, Hotel Cartagena Plaza, and Tammy Levent. They always love these sessions because they get to spend quality time with these amazing suppliers in a small group environment.
After these education and networking packed sessions, everyone moved over to the trade show and reception sponsored by Marriott. Agents put their plans into action and made connections with all of the suppliers while grabbing drinks and helping themselves to some fantastic food. We wrapped up the reception with an amazing raffle thanks to our incredibly generous sponsors where people walked about with prizes like free hotel stays and gift cards!
I attended PowerSolutions Live Orlando as a hotelier to simply learn how CCRA educates its members on how to research, compare and book accommodations for their clients and was overwhelmingly surprised by the professionalism of the staff, amazing presenters and attendees. I must say this was much more than I expected and am looking into increasing my 2019 sales and marketing budget to include sponsorship for a future Power Solutions event. Great job CCRA!– Jim Nickles, Director of Sales | Holiday Inn Express & Suites Orlando - South lake Buena Vista
To end the night, agents moved up to to the Presidential Suite at the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort for a CCRA PowerSolutions National Night Cap. This was an exclusive, Orlando-only experience where we served night caps like eggnog and mulled wine while talking about what's next for CCRA in an intimate environment.
