CCRA is thrilled to announce that we have been named a 2019 Gold Award Winner in the prestigious Travel Weekly Magellan Awards! CCRA earned the Gold Award designation in the Online Travel Services segment within the Overall Booking Interface category for the recently released next evolution of our TripSet booking engine.
"We are proud to continue receiving rave reviews from travel advisors and acclaim from the industry about our TripSet booking engine since its debut last year." - CCRA's President and CEO, Dic Marxen
"This Gold Award presented to CCRA Travel Commerce Network in Travel Weekly's Magellan Awards for 2019," said Marxen, " is a testament to the hard work of our development team and all of CCRA in listening to our Travel Advisors and providing the technology, tools, resources, training, and marketing opportunities to keep growing their travel businesses and building success."
The Magellan Awards are judged and overseen by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals representing the best names and most accomplished leaders from the industry. This year, the renowned judges included: Peter Greenberg, Travel Editor of CBS News' The Early Show; Johnny Jett, creator of acclaimed travel blog JohnnyJet.com; Rudy Maxa, host of Rudy Maxa's World on PBS; Brian Robb, Board Chair of The Travel Institute; Patricia Schultz, Author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die; Bob Lambert, Managing Director of Harvard Group International; and many other industry leaders and former executives of world-class, travel-related brands.
Per the Travel Weekly Awards website, entries are evaluated on a 100 point performance scale. In determining winners, entries do not compete with one another, instead, they are judged against a standard of excellence based on the long experience of Travel Weekly and considering the category entered. To uphold this high standard of excellence, a category may have multiple winners or may have no winners at all. The highest scoring entries are selected as winners of Gold Magellan Awards, the highest honor presented in Travel Weekly Magellan Awards.

More About TripSet:
After launching TripSet.com – CCRA's free booking engine designed to help travel agencies streamline their bookings, commission payouts, and agent management in one convenient place – in 2018, CCRA continues innovating and enhancing the platform with feedback from its agency partners and the travel advisor community. In December of 2018, CCRA announced the introduction of commissionable car rental bookings as a new offering available through TripSet that features commissions as high as 11%.
Most recently in 2019, CCRA went on to deliver a solution to the challenge that travel advisors face when working to book commissionable air. Research conducted by CCRA revealed that comparing fares across sources in order to get the best price for clients was incredibly time-consuming, tracking down commissions was a struggle, and sometimes the commission payouts were so low that it was barely worth the time and energy in the first place. With these challenges in mind, CCRA partnered with airfare consolidator Sky Bird Travel & Tours to build a better way for travel advisors to earn revenue on flights.
In June of 2019, CCRA enthusiastically unveiled the next evolution of TripSet.com with the addition of commissionable and private airfares. Registered travel advisors can now quickly find the best possible airfares for their clients via TripSet.com, earn competitive wholesale commissions, or markup their own commissions – all while streamlining their bookings and commission payouts for air, hotel, and cars in one user-friendly booking engine. Adding commissionable and private airfares to TripSet is a pivotal value-add for travel advisors who are thrilled with the powerful new ability to earn more revenue on air when booked using CCRA's robust, free booking platform.
